Wow! We really are in full show mode at the moment and this week we are looking forward to The Knitting and Stitching show at Alexandra Palace (affectionately known as Ally Pally) in North London.
If you have never been before this really is a giant show with 3 halls of exhibitors. Even arriving at the venue is spectacular with it’s amazing views of the London skyline. The organisers told us that more than 50,000 people are expected this year over 5 days so it does get busy. But it’s definitely worth it with so much to see, try and buy. We know that some people save up all year just to splurge on as much yarn as they can carry at the show.
We love the amazing mix of people we meet from school students, wanting to learn to knit or crochet, to experienced crafters who know just what they are looking for, armed with lists and patterns. Coach parties flock in from as far a field as Devon and Cumbria.
Last year this was the show we chose to launch our first yarn-Fine Merino DK and it was so exciting to tell so many people our story. This year we are back with all our yarns and books. We will also be unveiling the eagerly anticipated Knitting and Crochet Guild blanket inspired by the guild’s archive with 50% of pattern sales going directly to the guild to support their work. The blanket is made up of squares designed by 10 finalists selected in a competition held earlier in the year. We can’t wait for you to see it.
We do hope you will make time to visit our stand (K33) and say hello.
