We asked our designers and colleagues to let us know about their resolutions for 2015. Eline Oftedal told us; ”My knitting goals for 2015 are to design something in entrelac knitting. Then I would love to design a beautiful Fair Isle cardigan. I think for all designers who like colour work and stranded knitting to combine pattern and colours in a Fair Isle garment is the ultimate challenge. I have enough ideas in my mind to keep me busy and happy throughout 2015!” We look forward to seeing what Eline comes up with.
Jane Crowfoot is looking back as well as forward; “When I look back on a year I am always surprised by how few designs I actually manage to complete compared with the number of ideas I have. Every year I make a resolution to be more prolific, so this year I will make the same one in the hope that more of my ideas actually make it to the point where it is a completed design. I am currently madly in love with designing knitted Fair Isle patterns - partly because I love drawing the charts on the computer, but also because I love knitting Fair Isle in front of the TV.” There seems to be a bit of a theme emerging from Eline and Jane. Fair Isle is obviously going to be a technique to watch out for in 2015.
Here at Yarn Stories we have our own take on resolutions. Our Sales & Marketing Director, Annabelle tells us that she’s not much of a one for New Year's resolutions; “I find them too easily broken. That's not to say that I haven't been reflecting on the past year and thinking about how to go forward in the next. I'm aiming to get outdoors more as it's good for my soul. When I am indoors I am already reading and knitting more rather than watching TV.” Head Designer, Amanda Crawford knows what she wants to do; “I’ll definitely try and do more knitting for myself, I can't remember the last thing I knitted. Oh and more crochet too.” Our own Juliet Bernard is facing a problem many of us have to deal with. “Late last year I started to run out of needles – always a sure sign that I have cast on too many projects. I am determined to finish at least five projects before I cast on any more!”
