This month sees the yarn show season kick off in earnest, something we all look forward to.
We had a quick straw poll around Yarn Stories HQ to see why they are so popular and here’s what we found.
They are a great place to catch up with knitting friends. I meet up with one friend who lives near Newcastle most years at Woolfest in Cumbria. We are both busy and never seem to have the time to catch up otherwise. Because we are keen knitters, a show is the ideal location.
A show is a chance to be with like-minded people or a day out with your BKFFs (Best Knitting Friends forever). After all who else understands why you are purring as you try out a new set of needles you have been lusting after, or cooing over some beautiful hand made buttons, they may even join you!
It’s a great chance to catch up with what’s new. Some of the most exciting small brands are launched at their local show so you get to be one of the first people to spot them – big kudos with your knitting buddies.
And most importantly it’s the ultimate retail therapy. I mean, you can never have too much yarn/needles/buttons/knitting bags….(delete as appropriate)
