Living in Norway and growing up in hand and home knitted garments, she picked up the needles before she was fluent in anything! “My home was full of yarn and two creative sisters and parents - so we made all sorts of fun and functional things. I have since knitted my own things; the sweaters I wanted but couldn't find in the stores, the strange looking toys that came out of scrap yarn and gifts for dear friends,” says Eline.
It was much later that Eline found out that she could share her creations by writing knitting patterns. After opening a hand knit store on Etsy.com she was asked if she would submit a lace neck warmer for a book. She has designed and written knitting patterns ever since for magazines like Vogue Knitting and Interweave Knits in the US and Knitting Magazine and The Knitter in the UK.
Her first book, Knit Nordic was published in 2013 and is working on her second book. But Eline also has another string to her bow and we bet you won’t guess what it is. Over to you Eline.
“When not knitting and designing I work with the aerospace industry in Norway as the head of the branch organisation. Knitting and satellites are a much better combination than most people think they are!”
