Jane Crowfoot has always had a love for yarn and all things crafty and attributes her ‘crafty gene’ to her Great Grandmother, Alice, who was seldom seen without a crochet hook in her hand and a few granny squares upon her lap.
After completing a degree in Constructed Textile design at Winchester School of Art Jane worked as a swatch designer, selling machine knitted designs to fashion houses in the US, then as a design consultant for Rowan Yarns and an assistant to Debbie Bliss. That’s quite a pedigree. Over the last 18 years she has demonstrated and taught techniques to hand knit enthusiasts all over the world.
She has a passion for crochet, and often writes columns in and designs for magazines including Simply Crochet, Knit Today and Woman’s Weekly and has published The Ultimate Crochet Bible which frankly no crocheter should be without.
Jane works from her studio within her North London home, which she shares with her husband, 2 children and her dog Scramble.
We asked Jane what she thought about working on this project and she did make us blush a bit. “I am really chuffed to have been asked to submit designs for the Yarn Stories brand. The range of yarns are really beautiful to work with especially when crocheting. Yarn Stories is not looking backwards for inspiration and going forward is sure to be at the cutting edge of great knit and crochet design,” she told us.
