She made many of her own clothes as a teenager, but then as many did in the late 80’s, she put aside her crafting skills and went on to pursue other avenues. She could be found positioning ships in the arctic in the 90s and in the boardrooms of corporations in the 00’s. However a chance desire to buy her mum a cushion knit kit put her firmly back in the crafting domain. It was a revelation to be able to explore her creative side, and Jo has been designing knitwear ever since.
Jo likes to use different techniques and shapes to create very wearable knitwear. Her current favourite is to create texture and colour using slip stitch techniques. She designs accessories, womenswear, menswear, kids and babywear. You can find her designs in many knitting titles; Knitting, The Knitter, Lets Knit, Love Knitting for Baby and Simply Knitting. You’ll also see her designs from collaborations with Designer Yarns, Knitting Fever, West Yorkshire Spinners and Rico Design.
